Samsung teases lenses and white & gray NX10 (ten) at IFA, RedCrow says i-Function hooks you
At IFA in Berlin, it was hinted to Amateur Photographer UK that the two upcoming primes (20mm f2.8 and 60mm f2.7) and the 20-50mm (picture/render leaked in the NX100 leak) will likely be announced at Photokina (official product announcements). Samsung also showed white and gray NX10 (ten), and AP UK has two pictures of the white NX10 (back and front).
As you may recall recalling, Samsung has sent press invites for a September 20 event that will reveal a "life changing camera". It looks like we are heading towards a more retro Photokina show, where manufacturers actually "save" announcements for perhaps the craziest day in digital cameras, "Photokina Monday", the day before the trade-show doors open to the general public.
Speaking of the NX10, the current NX10 with 18-55mm kit is available for a limited time (coupon expires Sept-13) for $470 $430 (corrected) + S&H. See details at the Camera Deals blog.
Meanwhile, forum user "RedCrow" who has a good streak of "crowing" upcoming Samsung products, has a new update in the dpreview Samsung forum where he has ultra-shot tidbits on two of the new lenses (20mm f2.8, 20-50mm) and he also says (paraphrasing) that the new i-Function is addictive.
Samsung, not being constrained by "SLR traditionalism" and pressure to conform to SLR history and practices, is giving the lens more control. The ring on the lens can not only be used for aperture control but you can also program it to do what you want, thus the "i" in i-Function.
