Recapping a very busy Monday! (updated)

This was a very crazy Monday, so if you are just now catching up, we have a recap for you! We even had a false alarm via ...press release!

False Alarm: Sony Exmor-R for DSLRs
Yes, we even had false alarms! What looks like a typo in the Business Wire press release gave the impression that Sony was working on Exmor-R DSLR-size sensors. The Sony.net press release said "Exmor", not "Exmor R". We can assume that Sony.net has more "credibility" than Business Wire on Sony DSLR matters :)

New Gear, new Software and other new news
+ Zeiss 35mm f1.4 ZE/ZF.2 officially announced (Distagon T*)
+ new Epson printers, Panasonic and Toshiba UHS-I SDHC cards and Tamron CS5/LR3 plug-in for aberration correction
+ New Sony 13mp 1/2.5" 1080p Bloggie Touch camcorder stick and ten (!) digital picture frames, including one with a built-in printer (I am personally holding out for one with built-in coffee maker for the kitchen)
+ Sony increasing production facilities for imaging sensors, including DSLR sensors and also backlit sensors for smartphones
+ Fuji adds silver body color for F300-EXR says DC Watch (computer translated)
+ Apple iOS 4.1 includes HDR feature - also launched new $99 Apple TV and new trio of iPods.

Concept cameras
+ Canon shows throwaway concept of 4K 2/3" video camera at the Canon EXPO 2010 in NYC (dry-erase markers not included!)

Rumors
+ at least four new product announcements are coming for Nikon this month (September) said Hogan as he began his annual "internet detox" (new lenses have began shipping)
+ IFA speculations
+ this was an old prototype of what later became the Canon 7D Philip Bloom tweeted a Canon OOD DSLR from the Canon Expo. May have been a joke as he emphasized the wink?
