Hands-on with new gear: Nikon 28-300mm VR and Pentax K-r
This is the calm before the Photokina storm, as the trade show opens its doors on Tuesday September 21st, however, the announcements usually come on Monday or even Sunday (German time). So we have two hands-on reports with brand new gear...
Photographer, techie and Adobe blog-o-vangelist Terry L. White has published a quick hands-on report with the brand new Nikon 28-300mm VR superzoom lens. He currently has the 18-200mm DX VR as well, and before his blog-post concludes, he reveals his strong favorite. We won't spoil it here, so be sure to check it out if curious :)
Next up, Rice High points out a long hands-on report with the new Pentax K-r DSLR at the Korean PopCo.net forums. This is a long long page, with lots of camera body pictures, and side-by-sides with the K-x and K-7. A lot of the material is using Flash. If you have a jittery browser, you may want to open it in a separate browser program (program, not window/tab) to reduce the risk of a browser overload :) Even with Flashblock, it is a lot of stuff to load. Just like SLRClub, the previews are delivered as a series of images, not text+images, so computer-translation is not very helpful.
