GE joins Nikon in the cameras-with-projectors club with the new PJ1
GE has become the second well-known brand to offer a built-in projector with a digital camera when they announced their new PJ1. So far Nikon has been the only one, they started the party last year with the Coolpix S1000pj which has now dropped all the day down to $200 (OneCall), and continued this year with the S1100pj which starts out at $350.
GE tries to jump ahead of the Coolpix models in the optical zoom range, as the PJ1 will be having a 7X (28-196mm) folded-optics optical-zoom lens. The Coolpixies have a 5X folded-optics lens. The GE camera will feature 720p video, the ant-farm 14mp 1/2.3" sensor, and such. It is not currently listed on the US or European GE General Imaging websites, only at the Japanese (see below).
