Four more product announcements from Nikon this month says Hogan

Nikon super-guru Thom Hogan is beginning his annual "internet detox" for September, but before he goes, he has a parting gift on his website. He says "Nikon has at least four more product announcements that I'm pretty sure will be announced during my off month". He also says that all the new Nikon lenses announced with the D3100 (except for the 24-120mm) have began shipping from the Nikon USA warehouses and heading to your favorite retailers.

Already, the Nikon 55-300mm DX VR has began shipping from Amazon itself at the opening price of $400.

Meanwhile some pf the "crafty" third-party sellers on Amazon are shipping the Nikon 28-300mm with a $100 limited-availability premium ($1150 instead of $1050). As if the lens wasn't overpriced enough on its own. The new 85mm f1.4G initial price is even more insane from third-party sellers, it has a $200 limited availability premium at $1900 (instead of the opening price of $1700). Needless to say, unless you must have the lens yesterday and are made of money, you may want to wait for a few more days when the lenses will be available at their initial opening prices.
