Review Train (Mirrorless mega-comparison, Phase One 645DF, Sinar arTec, M9, and more)
Time for a new edition of the "Review Train". We start with episode #1 of what promises to be a very exciting mirrorless camera mega-comparison at Serious Compacts 2.0! The first part in the series is a CBA/LBA-inducing series of camera+lens body comparisons. The cameras in the series: Sony NEX-5, Samsung NX-10, Olympus E-P2, E-PL1, and Panasonica G2, GF1. Stay tuned to the Serious Compacts Testing Forum for upcoming installments in the series!
From mirrorless we go to medium format, where British Journal du Photographie has a photographer-priority review of the Phase One 645DF. The reviewer tested two digital back configurations, with the 54mp Aptus II 10 and 40mp Aptus II 8.
Continuing with the
mainframe medium format theme, Luminous Landscaping has just posted a hands on report with the Sinar arTec, a camera begging for the affections of architecture photographers. [NEW!]
Next up, Quesabesde tests out the Sony NEX-5 with the 3D functionality that was recently added via firmware update. Needless to say, it's hard to evaluate 3D in a 2D medium like a computer screen.
With Aperture 3 coming out, Alpha Numerique has published their ISO software testing with the Sony NEX-5 with Aperture 3 (as the RAW developer).
On the Leica front, Steve Huff has republished and updated his Leica M9
