New Nikon 85mm f1.4G AF-S Nano portrait lens for $1700
A lens manufacturer can never announce too many lenses to satisfy the LBA hunger, but four new lenses is better than less-than-four :) Nikon's four-pack is headlined, in terms of price, by the new 85mm f1.4G AF-S, a 35mm full-frame lens with an opening price of $1700. This is a classic portrait lens with a classic Nikon price :)
The lens features Nikon's nano crystal coating, has a rounded 9-blade diaphragm, IF (internal focusing), SWM (quiet AF), quick switch from manual/auto focus, 77mm filter, 85cm minimum focusing distance, 10 elements in 9 groups, 21oz weight, and things like that.
The lens is available for pre-order for $1650 at Adorama and $1700 at Amazon, B&H Photo. The initial pre-order price at Amazon was $1650 but now is $1700 - it may have been a typo or something. The fact that B&H Photo is accepting pre-orders is a sign that the lens may be getting released in the near future.
