Sony launches new 12mp 1/2.3" Exmor-R sensor with 3D Sweep Panorama
The Sony Europe website has just e-published a press release revealing three new Sony Cybershot digital cameras, two of which, the WX5 and TX9 will be using a new 12mp 1/2.3" Exmor-R (backlit) CMOS sensor. This sensor will also bring the 3D Sweep Panorama feature to these two Cybershot models. With 3D being a buzzword, Sony is positioning itself for the 2010 Holiday Shopping sweepstakes. As you can see from the multiple and colorful body colors, Sony is betting/hoping these will be more popular than the WX1.
We will have more on these three cameras as they propagate through the internets...
The three new cameras have been added to the list of 2010 cameras which has now reached a total of 140 from the major manufacturers. And we have just entered the second half of 2010 on a Photokina year [insert *cringe* here] ;-)
