Rumor roundup: Canon RED-like, 60D, Panasonic gapless sensors
Please note these are rumors, not actual cameras or official announcements! We start at CanonVille, where Canon Rumors has a spec-sheet rumor for a Canon 60D DSLR, which would be a 50D-followup and sit between the 50D and the 7D. Speaking of the 50D, it appears to be a quiet seller [see top seller archives], which is a little bit of an unusual thing for Canon, since Canon users are not shy, quiet and introverted wallflowers :)
On the Panasonic front, 43rumors was told by sources that Panasonic is developing gapless sensors that we may perhaps see in new cameras launched at Photokina 2010.
On the more wild-side of things, Canon Rumors received rumors of a RED-like camera from Canon in the works, with 4K video capabilities and EF lenses (4K video = 4000 horizontal pixels). When you consider that Panasonic has already announced the AG-AF100 and Sony has announced they are working on an APS-C interchangeable lens camcorder that takes E-mount (mirrorless NEX) and Alpha mount lenses (w/adapter), this is probably something they should be considering considering.
It should go without saying, but we repeat for good measure - these are rumors and they may be complete fantasies or they may be completely true, but most often, they are somewhere in-between :)
