PhotoNext 2010 show opens in Tokyo, Japan
The PhotoNext 2010 trade show has gone live in Japan! The show's website has a brief explanation of the show in human-translated English, however, the rest of the trade show's website is in Japanese, so here is the computer translation.
Coverage of the trade-show from Japan can be found at computer-translated DigitalCamera.jp (if reading at a later date, look for it in their Archives under June 29), and also at computer-translated DC Watch Impress.
Among the items featured above, are Tokina's upcoming lenses including their 16-28mm f2.8 PRO, a hot-shoe mount LCD viewfinder from Aputure, other (D)SLR gear, and the Japanese debut of the Kodak M580 and their waterproof PlaySport camcorder-stick. Also from Japan, the Panasonic 8mm f3.5 fisheye for Micro Four Thirds has began shipping.
We checked a couple of english-speaking Japanese sites but they are not covering the trade show. We did however find a Sony R&D project - a lifeblogging camera for cats, with GPS and acceleration sensor, and more importantly of all, the ability to post updates on Twitter ;-)
