New Samsung NX5 mirrorless announced in Europe (updated)
As we predicted earlier on, the "counterstrike" against the Sony NEX system has began. Yesterday Panasonic revealed, out of cycle, an 8mm M43rds fisheye lens, today, Samsung has revealed the previously rumor-leaked NX-5, their second NX-series mirrorless camera. The camera appears to be a "deputy" model to the "sheriff" (oh dear) NX-10. The main differences so far appear to be gadgety-specs, like the LCD, the EVF, and price (we'll know more when detailed previews come out). This gives Samsung flexibility to price-compete with the Sony NEX-3 and the Olympus E-PL1.
This also takes naming-collisions to a new level, NX5 vs NEX5! Yikes!
