New Panasonic FX75 (FX70) is a mid-range price-range compact

Panasonic has announced their plans for world domination in solar energy thanks to the recent addition of Sanyo. Ooops! Wrong blog. Let's start again...

Panasonic has announced a new bijou-ish compact point and shoot camera, the FX75 which also goes by the name of FX70 to make sure confusion is part of its lifecycle :) It has a 5X Leica-branded lens (24-120mm) starting at f2.2 but going f5.9 at telephoto. So wide-angle fans may show more interest in this :) Power OIS is included as well. The price has not been announced yet, but feature-wise it is positioned as a mid-range price-range type of a P&S camera.

Other features include AVCHD Lite video, 3-inch touchscreen LCD (230K), 14mp 1/2.3" abomination sensor, Venus Engine HD II, and things like that. It's hard not to make fun of these releases - they beg for it - for example, this camera has a "Cosmetic Mode" :)
