New 25mp square CMOS sensor (53fps full-res, global shutter) from Cypress - but for machine vision

There is some new sensor excitement at EosHD and Image Sensors World - Cypress is talking about their new 25-megapixel square-sensor for machine vision. It is a CMOS sensor, with global shutter, and can do 53fps at full resolution. Its official name is "VITA 25K" - sounds like a vitamin drink for marathon runners? :) The full press release is at Business Wire.

Shh! Don't tell anyone, but the Cypress page for this sensor, which includes an informative two-page PDF file, calls it "global shuttur" instead of "global shutter" :)
