ISO wars: Nikon D700 vs Canon T2i/550D at DC Watch
Sure, the Nikon D700 and Canon D-Rebel T2i/550D (Kiss X4) are different type of cameras, but that doesn't mean you can't compare them as long as you understand that. And Japanese website DC Watch Impress was curious about the ISO performance of the new 18mp APS-C sensor versus the old and trusty 12mp 35mmFF sensor of the Nikon D700, so they decided to publish a full-range ISO comparison.
For each camera, they used a variety of noise-reduction settings, that's why you see multiple sets of pictures. Click on the thumbnails to get to the full-size. The first set for each camera was shot with noise reduction turned off, and each subsequent set moves to a higher NR setting.
The D700 used the Tokina AT-X M100 PRO D lens, while the Canon T2i/550D used its own EF-S 60mm f2.8 macro.
