Ricoh GXR P10 28-300mm f3.5-5.6 VC officially announced (5fps RAW!)
The third Ricoh GXR camera is now officially announced by Ricoh after a development notice came out a few weeks ago. The new P10 28-300mm f3.5-5.6 VC, is essentially the Ricoh CX3 when you combine the GXR-body (sold separately) with the P10 28-300mm sensor-lens block.
This has a 10mp 1/2.3" backlit CMOS sensor, and one of the features you don't often get with either 1/2.3" sensors or superzooms is 5fps RAW! Other features of note includes 1cm macro, and things like that. European prices are 250 euro or GBP. We have not seen US prices yet.
But perhaps the biggest news is an interview with Amateur Photographer where they talk about the concept units they are thinking about, including a sensor-only that would allow non-Ricoh lenses to be mounted. I think a sensor-only module that allows other lenses to be mounted could be a huge boost for the GXR system. Be sure to read the interview, they also talk about other interesting and outside the DSLR-Traditionalist-box concepts for modules. It's like an iPhone app store of ideas! (Please note these are concepts, by no means guaranteed to become actual products, so if you want any of these, be sure to let Ricoh know about it!)
