Pentax K-x gets DXOMark-tested - how did the RAW sensor do?
DXOMark is back with another RAW sensor data analysis. This time they decided to check the sensor of the Pentax K-x, the camera that has earned some of its popularity due to its noise performance. So without further ado, here are the DXoMaRk test results. After digesting the results, you can use their compare cameras feature and square it off against other cameras they have in their DXO database.
The most obvious comparison is with the other Pentax DSLRs, and DXOMark has this comparison pre-configured on their Pentax page. The results are EYE OPENING in terms of low-light noise and dynamic range. Perhaps Pentaxians need to start an actual "crusade" to get the K-x sensor in a K-7 body :-)
Of course this is not new news to hard-core Pentaxians - LumoLabs performed a K-x sensor test and a K-x vs K-7 comparison back in October 2009!
For more on the camera, be sure to check its list of reviews. In terms of pricing, be sure to check the K-x stock status page and do a DIY price-check of any kits of interest. The latest price update there was March 6.

This is likely going to generate a lot of action in the forums, so we will add more here, but for now, there's already an analysis of the K-x vs K-7 at ALC's Tech Tok blog by Mason Resnick.
