Olympus E460 DSLR name appears on software feedback form
43rumors.com points out that the name of an Olympus E460 (DSLR) is among the many other existing cameras listed at DXO support page. The form asks users feedback on which camera/lens combos to support. This is probably a leak Olympus would likely be very happy about since since the AP-UK interview they have been trying to re-assure jittery Four Thirds users that 4/3rds will continue in parallel to M43rds.
Considering the way the E4xx-series camera names go, this is not a typo. It may be a mistaken or accidental entry, but not a typo since there is no camera before or after the limited availability E450 in terms of numerical order. Or perhaps the E460 was in the pipeline but then delayed? We obviously do not know...
The E4xx-series started with the E400, and continued with the E410, E420, and E450. More on these four via the Review Oregonizer.
With Olympus being able to squeeze image stabilization in all three E-Pens, they would have NO EXCUSES if such a camera were to come out without image stabilization. As you can tell by perusing the various Olympus forums, the E4XX-series always had its enthusiastic fans, partially because of its compact size.
We did go through the list, we did not find any other leaked camera names.
