Nikon D3s review at Register Hardware
It looks like the Nikon D3s is helping boost Ozzy Osbourne's music sales ;-) A brand new review of the Nikon D3s at Register Hardware is sub-titled "A shot in the dark?". This is a nine page review, including ISO crops from 100 to 100K. I'm sure eventually it will get old, but saying "ISO 100 to 100K" is kinda cool in a geeky kind of way ;-)
Meanwhile Nikon itself has put the D3s to work, as they have used it to film their new Web 2.0 inspired "I am Neekon" campaign. More on the new Nikon promos via Photography Blog et al.
A similar use of the D3s can be found at the blog of photographer Stephen Allen who used it to shoot a video for the University of Central Florida.
Okay enough about video. How about some actual pictures? Photographer Jason Hawkes shot pictures of NYC and Vegas from above (with helicopter) and the NYC pictures were shot using the D3s. See them featured last week at the Big Picture blog.
Back at the bookstore, the 500+ page guide to the D3s/D3x by David Busch is now shipping for around $20.
For more on the camera, be sure to check the D3s hybrid reference page (okay, it's just a page with all sorts of things about the D3s). And as fate would have it, the camera is actually in-stock at OneCall for $5200.
