New interview with Olympus Japan at Four Thirds User
Four Thirds User has published a long interview with an Olympus SLR product planning team manager who has been touring UK to do damage control get feedback on the Olympus E-PL1. The interview covers most of the hot topics in the world of Olympus, the future of 4/3rds, Micro 4/3rds, autofocusing, promised lenses, and things like that. As usual, no new products were revealed, but there are some interesting points in the interview! Discussion follows right below the interview.
One statement from the Oly Japan manager that has generated a lot of discussion is that he considers Micro Four Thirds as a stepping stone to the E-system. Some M43rds fans may see this as potentially creating an artificial ceiling for M43rds in order to funnel photographers to the E-system. SLR Traditionalism again or just trying to pacify some of the anxious Four Thirds users?
