Gear are not enough! (updated)

Sing the title to the tune of ABC's "Tears are not enough" for more dramatic effect :) Two of the photo-gurus have posted articles this week pointing out that gear is not enough, and gear is not the limiting factor most of the times. This is organic food for thought to perhaps help put things in perspective.

First up, Crane Whisperer Thom Hogan has a detailed article (permalink) on his website dated March 29, 2010 entitled "Blame the Equipment", which actually blames the photographers for blaming the equipment. He goes in detail on how a photographer can improve before considering a DSLR upgrade.

Next up, David du Chemin steps on the soap box and proclaims a crazy idea on how to improve your photography skills.
