Canon T2i (550D) gets field-tested in the desert

Philip Bloom has published a behind the scenes report of a field test with the Canon Digital Rebel T2i (550D) at the Salton Sea, which results among other things in a 4-minute Vimeo video. Needless to say, that was a harsh environment, above-spec for the T2i, so it is interesting to see how it performed.

The camera is currently shipping from multiple retailers at $900 as you can see at the T2i stock status page, while the T1i/500D has stabilized at $650 and $750, essentially going for $150 less than the equivalent T2i kits.
