Sigma DP1s review at Photography Blog
With the waves of new cameras coming out every other day, it is often easy to forget the Sigma cameras that have been at some stage of development 400-cameras-ago and some have yet to ship (*cough* SD15 *cough*). One of the forgotten cameras (even though it is actually shipping) has received a new review at Photography Blog - the DP1s. This is a 19th century version of the 18th century model, DP1 :) The review includes plenty of real-world samples, including a six-pack of X3F RAW files.
Unfortunately for Sigma/Foveon fans and unfortunately for more diversity in the market, Sigma continues to treat digital camera development the same way they treated film SLR camera development. The problem is that unlike film cameras, the digital world changes very often and you can't take years (!) from announcement to release.
The three existing DP-series models are currently shipping at Amazon and their prices are around $35-$50 apart - in order of release, $535 (DP1), $571 (DP2), $619 (DP1s).
