Pentax pulls out of PMA 2010 (computer-translated) [updated!!!]

According to Japanese website DC Watch Impress, Pentax is pulling out of PMA. The text indicates this was a Pentax (subsidiary), not a Hoya decision.

Thanks for the help with the real translation to Jaladhi and Yin!

Pentax is listed in the PMA rolodex, but that's because they were planning to attend the trade show initially.

Already, Canon and Leica are out of PMA 2010, and some/many people are not happy with the change of venues from fun-Vegas to real-real-world "The OC" and the inconsistency of show-dates year after year.

In addition to PMA (February 21 to 23) there will be two more high profile trade shows in the next couple of weeks:

+ March 7 to 10: European Focus on Imaging in Birmingham, UK
+ March 11 to 13: CP+ Photo & Imaging Show (website in english) in Japan (powered by CIPA)

UPDATE Saturday February 20
PDN Gear Guide is at the trade show and they have an update on Pentax at PMA 2010 - the company does not have a booth on the trade-show floor for consumers to see, however, the company is there doing "behind the scenes" work - eg meeting with the camera people, websites and journalists.
