Preview and full-size samples with pre-production Panasonic TZ10 (ZS7) at CNet Asia
CNet Asia has just published a hands-on preview of the brand new Panasonic TZ10 (ZS7), using a pre-production camera body. Their preview includes full-size sample pictures (with the pre-production camera), including an A/B test of the HDR feature, along with a video hands-on preview of the camera body. They also have a paragraph describing the built-in GPS feature, which may be of great interest to people who like to travel a lot or have their TZ-cameras with them all the time.
But it's no longer a bed of roses for the TZ-series, which is perhaps why Panasonic had to up the ante with both manual exposure and the built-in GPS. Ever since the TZ3 "broke out" in the market and created the new "fun zoom" sub-segment of superzooms, the other manufacturers took this more seriously and tried to make TZ-killer models. Just at CES alone, we saw the Sony HX5v, Casio EX-FH100, and Samsung HZ35/HZ30.
Panasonic America did not reveal a price yet, but the European price is revealed to be 400 euro (see announcement for more). When it was announced, the TZ7/ZS3 [reviews] started at $400, while the TZ5 [reviews] started at $350. Speaking of the TZ7, you can now get it for around $240.
