dpreview launches free user Galleries in beta (unlimited Pro option to follow)

Following the launch of the photographic challenges, dpreview has just launched in beta free photographer galleries. Each user account will get up to upload up to 200MB per month and have a total of 1000 images in their albums at any time. Pro accounts will arrive later on with unlimited uploading and unlimited pictures. They also have help pages to get new users started up.

To get a better feel, here is one live example of a real user-gallery, by photographer "xteapot".

It will be interesting to see how the dpreview move affects the rest of the market, including the for-pay accounts at flickr, SmugMug, Zenfolio et al.
