Reactions to the Pentax K-x review at dpreview.com
Time to take the pulse of the reactions to the dpreview-review of the Pentax K-x (AM coverage). But first, a new bite-size review of the camera at Kamera & Bild, in Swedish, and with ISO comparison crops between the K-x, D90 and Canon 7D (oh my?)... And one more thing before we dive into the forums...
Pentax interview at DC Watch [NEW!]
It's hard to make any definitive points out of computer-translation, but in case there are people who can read Japanese - here is an Pentax interview at DC Watch (computer-translated)
Dear Santa [NEW!]
All I want for XMas is a five-meter (16.67 ft) Christmas Tree with Pentax K-xs as ornaments. (Via digitalcamera.jp). We do not know if this was created before or after the dpreview review was published ;-)
PentaxForums reactions
We start in the PFFs, the home-court of Pentaxians with two discussion threads, one each in the relevant sub-forums. Here is discussion #1 and discussion #2. There is some champaign flowing in the e-wires, but there are also some nitpicks on the review.
dpreview forum reactions
There is a big thread there that is heading towards 150. Three dpreview-reviewers are also involved answering reader questions. There are celebrations, and the usual proof-reading - the dpreview forums can go up against a team of magazine and book editors and beat them most of the time! Even some of the impossible-to-please regulars of the forums seem happy with the K-x/review :)
Most of the Pentaxian discussion is contained in the above thread, but a new one has just sprung up that is destined to generate "excitement": "I feel bad for Nikon owners" :)
Away from the safety of K-ville, there are review-discussions in the two main non-denominational forums at dpreview, the News forum, and Open Talk.
Bonus segment: Ken Rockwell and Nikon D40 revisited, episode #14355
We couldn't help but notice while strolling the forums, a brand new thread (3 days old) discussing Ken Rockwell and his Nikon D40. Don't look now, but the Nikon D40 is still around, despite multiple cameras coming after it. Is Ken Rockwell a DSLR King Maker? :)
