Pentax K-7 pings with Digital Camera Review review
"I'm still alive" sings the Pentax K-7 using Eddie Vedder's voice. Sure y'all are noise-drooling over the K-x, but "don't you forget about me" ;-) On a more serious note, I think it would be a very wise move for Pentax in 2010 to release a K-7 body with a K-x sensor! If 12mp is good enough for the $5000+ 35mmFF Nikon D3s, it should be good enough for any APS-C camera :)
With that as a preface, there is a brand new review of the Pentax K-7 published at Digital Camera Review. It includes the usual reviewalia, including their standard ISO range scene. The conclusions are on page #3, but we won't reveal here. Sheer excitement, or pure massacre? Read on through to find out :)
This has been added to the list of K7 reviews, which includes dpreview, IR, DCR, TOP, Luminous, Photocrati and many more.
After a two-month delay, we finally updated the K7 stock status page. But the prices actually haven't changed much. If you are not afraid of mail-in rebates, the best deal is the K-7 + 18-55mm WR for $1015 after a $100 mail-in pre-paid VISA card. The body only actually costs more - around $1050 but without rebates. The VISA rebates, which encourage LBA, end in mid-January 2010. The main reason for taking so long in-between stock-status updates is because we have a number of lenses and accessories in the page, which makes the updates more painful.
