Zeiss modernizes their Nikon-mount lenses with electronic interface
Zeiss has taken another step today in making its SLR-lens offering more competitive in the Nikon world by announcing their new ZF.2 line of lenses. These are CPU-lenses, which means they have an electronic interface that enables some of the "modern era" features popular in the (D)SLR world.
Zeiss will make a total of six lenses available by the end of the month, and two more in/by the of Spring 2010. These will be new/reworked versions of their current ZF lenses (ZF = Nikon mount). They are obviously Zeiss-priced, ranging from around 550 to 1400 euro.
Now Ashton Kutcher can feel more comfortable running around taking photos with a Nikon D40 and a Zeiss prime ;)
