Weekly recap and new embedded micro-blogging experiment

All apologies for the delay, but we have finally finished the summary of the week that was that is published every Sunday at our Old Blogspot blog. There you will also find the Lens Review Diary, featuring new lens reviews from modest primes to not-so-modest primes and everything in-between.

Some of the regular readers may have noticed a new experiment, we are trying an embedded microblogging experiment on the front page of the blog, in the middle column towards the top, between the block of feed updates and the first new blog post. This is a multi-purpose single-line update that is used for:

+ tips on how to make the most of this blog
+ status updates in case there are issues or problems
+ alerts for things coming up or happening now
+ quick hits and FYIs
+ etc
