(ENDED) Price crash alert: Olympus E-P1 with 14-42mm WAS $675 (updated)

As of 2:15pm EST on Friday November 6, the price has returned to $800 and Buy.com is no longer listed as the featured seller. You can read the original post after the jump.

We interrupt our scheduled programming with a surprise $125 price-drop alert! The Olympus E-P1 with the 14-42mm zoom is now going for $675 with free shipping at Buy.com through Amazon.

As of 12:14pm on Friday the price has changed at the Buy.com website. It jumped from $675 to $800! This is sold and shipped by Buy.com, not third-party sellers.

Please note that the price is as of the time of writing and we do not have magic technology to rewrite the blog-text when the price changes. We will be monitoring this and posting updates, but we cannot stare at the page and hit refresh every 5 minutes :)

UPDATE at 9:46pm EST: We have just refreshed the E-P1 stock-status matrix and the price remains at $800 at the other retailers. It will be interesting to see whether this is an isolated price-test, or the start of the discounting process...
