Nikon D300s review by dpreview
Canon 7D [reviews] got its day at dpreview, now it is time for its rival to get the 31-page dpreview review, a Rehm and Butler production. Among many other things, there are noise comparisons between it, the 7D, K-7 and 50D. Pentax fans, please write to Ned B. and ask him to release a K-7 body using the K-x sensor :) Also of interest is the "Compare to" segment, which features comparisons to the 7D, 50D and K-7. As usual we won't reveal the conclusions here, but you can jump to page #30 if you can't wait to find out what they found out. A gallery of 37 full-size real-world JPEGs follows the conclusions.
The review has been added to the list of D300s reviews at the busy DSLR review organizer.
The best price for the camera right now among the retailers we track is $1574 with free shipping from Amazon itself. And in a rather strange math twist, the kit with the 18-200mm DX VR II lens actually costs more than if you buy the D300s body-only and the 18-200mm DX VR II separately. Either one of these kits is eligible for a promotion that gets you $200 off if you buy it together with the 70-300 f4.5-5.6 VR in the same transaction - both must be sold and shipped by Amazon herself. The $200 off promotion ends on November 28, 2009.
