New Olympus E-P1 and E-P2 reviews come out
We have special skills, we can channel digital cameras ;-) The Olympus E-Pens told us that they would like to remind the photographers out there that they were the ones who started the M43rds-craze in 2009, not the GF1 :)
Today we have two new reviews of the E-Pens. We start with perhaps the first published review of the E-P2, published at the Hollandaise website Pixelmania. The seven-page review is in Dutch, but "The Google" can perform a translation. (via Foto Actualidad, via dpreview forums).
More E-P2 action, Engadget points us in the direction of travel-tech-blog Gadling where they have posted their very early hands-on impressions after they received their unit in the mail. And this perhaps goes to show what Olympus Marketing thinks is part of the target audience of this camera. Pricing-aside, its compact size would indeed make it a very good candidate for a serious-photographer travel camera.
The E-P2 was also officially launched in Korea, and Korean tech-blog Aving was there to cover the event.
Next up, the E-P1, which has assembled quite a long list of reviews, has added one more review to its camera-box post ;-) The brand new review comes from Photoxels.com. As usual, we won't spoil their findings here.
In terms of availability, the E-P1 kits have returned to their opening prices of $800/$900, while the E-P2 remains in pre-order status at $1100. You can see them all at Amazon.com. It is interesting that Olympus chose to price the E-P2 at the same price range that the profiteers are trying to sell the Panasonic GF1 kits when all the reputable sellers ran out of stock at the $900 price!
