Copyright law overhaul in UK could be devastating to some working photographers
The British Journal of Photography recaps the current situation in the UK, where the proposed overhaul of the copyright law could result in individuals being allowed free use of images for non-commercial purposes.
This may be a good time for photographers to evaluate their business model(s0, and perhaps develop flexible alternatives, just to be on the safe side. Digital has changed things, and regardless of the copyright law outcome, and as painful as it may be to some who may have been using the traditional "prints for pay" business model, it is time for soul-searching and thinking outside the box.
