Canon pulls Digital Journalist sponsorship

Just posted at TOP is an email from The Digital Journalist stating that Canon is pulling their sponsorship of The Digital Journalist and the December issue may be their last. DJ has a plea for PayPal pledges, asking their readers to contribute. Details via the link above.

Maybe Canon is planning to join Panasonic and start installing giant pigeons around the world, and there are no funds for journalism-related projects!

At the same time as the DJ news came out, Canon wants to spend 1.1 billion euros to buy Oce - see more via the Insider.

Now if Nikon wants to really irritate Canon, and win over the hearts and minds of photojournalists, they should consider picking up the DJ sponsorship :)
