Thom Hogan defends Nikon's 12mp versus Canon's 16-18mp

Partially in response to email complaints that Nikon is stuck at 12-megapixels, while other digital cameras (eg Canon 1D Mark IV and 7D) have jumped to higher megapixelations, Thom Hogan posted on October 21st an update on his website addressing these issues in some detail, and defending Nikon's choices.

Below the megapixelation, he addresses the question on what else Nikon may release this year. Will there be a D700x? Or something else? How about lenses? Read Hogan's speculation for more!
