Micro Four Thirds recap: camera and lens reviews, GF1 ships
It has been a very busy Micro Four Thirds day today, with camera and lens reviews, the GF1 zoom-kit shipping, and more!
We start with a "map". With four M43rds cameras now, Serious Compacts has created a very handy table that maps the key differences between the four cameras.
On the review front, there were two GF1 reviews we mentioned earlier today, but there were also two M43rds lens reviews that we haven't mentioned yet as we started the day in reverse chronological order. The two new lens reviews are:
+ Panasonic 20mm f1.7 pancake at SLR Gear, just days after the dpreview review. Did they agree on their findings?
+ Olympus 14-42mm M.Zuiko lens review at Photo Zone, using the E-P1 as the "vessel" of the review
You can follow all M43 reviews as they come out at our new disciplined mini-site M43reviews.com
Panasonic GF1 zoom kit still shipping
Yes GF1 fans, the tall ships from Japan must have docked in both New York and Seattle, as Adorama, and Amazon have the GF1 zoom kit (w/14-45mm) in-stock and shipping for $900. Please note that B&H Photo will be closed from Friday AM until Monday AM, so be sure to factor that in your shopping plans.
UPDATE: As of 1:21pm EST on October-1st we noticed that B&H Photo has sold out of their inventory. We will post a new update when it returns in-stock.
The GF1 stock-status matrix has been updated again to reflect the latest status!
