The week in Canon 7D action

We already mentioned the Luminous report on the EOS 7D, now it is time to catch up with some of the 7D action from this week that we haven't featured yet.

We start with a 12-page article at the European Canon professional network. This is a technical article going over the insides and outsides of the camera.

EOS 7D - the photographer's camera
We start with a field report of the camera, discussed in the dpreview forums, and posted at the brand new Canon Field Reviews blog by Ole Jorgen Liodden. The tests so far have been with a pre-production camera.

A double-feature at Photography Bay. Not only do they have a 7D hands-on report, but they also have first impressions on the new 100mm f2.8 macro lens with the hybrid-IS.

Another hands-on report is posted by Andrew Chan, which includes ISO and noise discussion and crops!

On the photography front, videographer Philip Bloom tests out time-lapse photography with the 7D, setting his time to 2 seconds.

Shutter sound is not just a gadgetologist's fetish, it is also something that Canon engineering is interested in. That's what they told CNet Asia during the 7D launch in Singapore.

EOS 7D - the video camera
On the video front, Philip Bloom has just posted a new short "poetic" film, shot at 30p and then converted with software to 24p.

The Big Question
If the camera is set to ship next week, why are the reviewers still using pre-production cameras? (We ask, you investigate, you decide!)
