Leica X1 and M9 - what's happening?

Now that we finished all the other stuff, it is time to shine the floodlights on Leica!

Leica X1
The Leica X1 is mentioned in a paragraph in the PDF file below (see page #42), which says:
+ "CMOS sensor the size of most DSLRs" (APS-C)
+ fitted with one of the very best Leica lenses
+ automatic features in addition to the countless manual options

Note the use of the word "fitted" in the PDF brochure.

We did try the url format of the M9 below for the X1, but there is nothing there.

The X1 also creates a puzzle for the GetDPI forums, where does the Leica X1 conversation go? :)

This is the picture of the X1 via the M9 PDF file. It is a small picture, already zoomed too close for comfort:

No D-Lux4 replacement
On page #42, the D-Lux 4 is listed along with the X1, M9, and S2. So no D-Lux4 replacement for now.

Leica M9 PDF leak
The M9 brochure and specs were available as PDF files at a Leica website - details in the GetDPI forums. Post #5 has an alternate source for the low-res PDF file. You can also get via sendspace.

UPDATE: We have just downloaded the PDF file, it is 45 pages long, and nearly 7MB. The overall theme of the brochure is boxers and boxing. Not sure if this is a metaphor of what Leica wants to do to the digital camera market ;-)

Thed points out in the comments in this post that the Leica M9 preview page (now requires password; not live) went up for little bit but then taken down.

Another discussion of the Leica M9 page leak at the dpreview Leica forums.

Never-ending new threads and discussions at the L-Camera M8 forum. However, the moderators of the forum have deleted all the PDF leaks because it would "harm their good relationship" with Leica.

The brochure also includes the specs of the (existing) 35mm film camera M7/MP, starting at page #39.

Leica M9 Specifications Summary (via PDF file)
