Sony A850 ships on Monday (plus first impressions and samples)

Yes Alpha A850 fans, the wait is almost over! You don't have to wait long! Sony Style estimates to have the camera in-stock on August 31, 2009! That's right, on Monday, for the expected price of $2000! (Update: now the estimate is September 1st)

Luminous Landscape started to review the A850, and it quickly became a deja-vu exercise, as the camera is very similar to the Alpha A900 they had already checked out. Nevertheless, they go on with their testing and report their findings. They even have a small sample taken with the 70-400mm. Also, LL has a couple of pet-peeve-rants which are entertaining to read.
