Samsung teases August 13 announcement with stranger than Twin Peaks teaser

Through the Samsung dpreview forum and Engadget, we learn that Samsung Korea has launched a teaser campaign for a camera to be announced on August 13, 2009. This looks like it is a P&S camera, the one the previous Korean rumors called "the sci-fi camera", not the NX-series.

It is possible that the teaser website may turn out to be more interesting that the camera itself - check it out at Tap and Take (Flash site, plays audio when you load it). Do I smell a "Nikon Coolpix SQ"? ;-)

To see the stream of "clues", click on the blue "Tap and Take" bubble on the bottom right corner of the screen. The website is rather unique and entertaining perhaps. There are random words and phrases, floating through the screen. Some of them appear to be hints, although it is possible that some may be misdirection clues.

Furthermore, the floating clues react to your mouse movements, but not in the way you may expect it to do so.

One note for those reading at work or are sensitive to adult-topics, the stream of words actually has adult-themed language, and even has a line about a public company involved with terrorism (!).

This looks like Twin Peaks marketing!
