Nikon D300s body-only is now shipping! (updated)

As Amazon promised, the HD-powered Nikon D300s is now shipping for the starting price of $1800! So as not to keep those of you who want to get it as soon as possible waiting, we are posting this in live-update format.

Best Prices right now: $1790 with free shipping
The best price right now is $1790 with free S&H at Abe's of Maine. Regular price is $1800 but if you use coupon LOYALTY10, it drops the price down to $1790.

The second best price is $1797 with free shipping and handling by Beach Camera on eBay.

The third best price is $1800 with free shipping at OneCall.com and by four well-known third party sellers at Amazon.com

Well-known online retailers
Amazon herself has a shipping estimate of "August 30" now, but third-party sellers are offering it for $1800 with free shipping including Calumet, Ace Photo Digital, OneCall, and Cameta.

Away from Amazon, you can get it for $1800 plus shipping (under $20) directly from Calumet. To locate it, simply enter the product code NZ1305 in the search-box. Their current shipping estimate is "same day".

For $1790 but with free ground shipping you can currently get it at Abes of Maine. Use coupon code loyalty10 to drop the price by ten dollars to $1790.

For $1800 with free ground shipping you can get it from OneCall.com which got it in-stock at around 730pm eastern.

Reputable sellers on eBay
If you are buying on eBay, be sure to make sure you are buying from sellers you know and trust, and if you don't know them, be sure to thoroughly investigate them!

As of the time of writing, 17th Street Photo has ten units available for $1800 plus $30 shipping and handling.

Meanwhile, Norman Camera upon eBay is offering it for $1860 with free shipping.

Also for $1797, with free shipping and handling, you can get it from Beach Camera on eBay.

You can see more D300s listings, sorted by lowest price.

Again, please exercise caution if you are not familiar with a particular retailer on eBay, especially when buying an expensive DSLR like this!

Not Shipping
Adorama is accepting pre-orders, but the camera is not in-stock yet.

B&H Photo lists it as "out of stock", however it is not orderable.

Debate for the sake of debate
Considering the temporal link between the two, if you were starting over, would you pick the APS-C Nikon D300s for $1800 or the 35mmFF Sony A850 for $2000?
