Pentax K7: pixel-peepiential clouds across the moon?

Share/Save/Bookmark

One photographer in the dpreview forums pixel-peeped the RAW K7 files from Imaging Resource, and is making some comments about noise, more specifically pre-processing of RAW files at ISO 6400, akin to the K20D. Needless to say, this has set off a major firestorm, and the tensions are high. The thread is hijacked dominated by the two Rolands.

Meanwhile, Rice High, the unofficial quality-assurance department of the K7, is pointing at some vertical lines in a couple of sample pictures, and also a pixel-peepiential analysis at a Japanese blog comparing previously posted samples of the K7, K20D and Canon 50D. Maybe Pentax needs to send Rice High their cameras during the pre-beta stages!

And if that's not enough, there are waves and waves of posts in the PFFs.

It looks like the K7 announcement has turned some Pentaxians (behavior-wise) into ...Canon users ;-)
