Olympus FE-4010 also new, very similar to FE-4000, but not in press release
In addition to the FE-5020 and FE-4000, Olympus has also revealed the FE-4010, but apparently they forgot to include it in their press release. You know you are making too many cameras when your own people lose track of them!
You can learn more about it on the Olympus America website, here is the FE-4010 product page. We did not find this model on Amazon.com.
We put the specifications pages from the Olympus America website in two separate windows and compared and the only differences we found were (assuming the specs are correct):
+ the FE-4010 has a Super-Macro macro, while the FE-4000 does not
+ FE-4010 has ISO 3200, while the other does not
+ an extra scene mode
+ different flash ranges
How dumb is this! Why on earth waste resources to make two cameras that are so similar? Instead of doing practical things, like putting SD/SDHC slots in their cameras and undoing the xD-panorama fiasco, they do stupid things like this! I see a "worse persons in the woooooooooooooooooooorld" coming!
