Olympus E-P1 recent news and updates

It is time to catch up with some of the latest happenings in the world of the E-P1. As most of you know by now, the silver body with the black lens has started shipping at $800, along with some of the accessories.

Meanwhile, just yesterday, Olympus released new versions of Master and Studio. More on that with the download link via the Insider. There you will also find an update on which software to use to open E-P1 RAW files.

Sample Pictures
More full-size pictures have been added to the DigiCam Review gallery raising the total to 34.

The Imaging Insider has added two more night-shot samples taken with the E-P1, but also some of its competitor-friends (DP2 and DLux4).

Hands on with the E-P1
Photographer James Duncan Davidson had a brief hands-on with the camera, and without any further ado, he shares what he found out and what he thinks of the camera.

And a real world application, a photographer received his camera, and used it at a wedding too. He shares some of his findings in the Oly dpreview forums.

Travel blog Gadgling.com has posted the part #3 of their E-P1 coverage, recapping their second week with the camera.

You've heard about the Art Filters. You probably scoffed at the Art filters the first time you heard about them. But can they be useful or at least fun? Derrick Story tells his side of the ...story and has pictorial examples at flickr.

In the forums
One photographer has both the E-P1 and the blue G1, and you guessed it, side by side pictures of the two cameras. Both are smaller cameras compared to the typical dSLR, but how do they compare against each other sizewise? Read on to find out!

A big thread is under-way at the Get DPI forums, where photographers share the excitement of the new arrivals. Over 160 posts and growing...

The UK Safari Q&A session continues in the dpreview forums with part #2, with Brian and friends answering questions. If you missed part #1, be sure to check it out.

E-P1 at the Gadget blogs
You may recall the early-review at CNet by Lori G. Now more of the gadget blogs have opined!

We start at Engadget, where their gadgety hands got a hold of the E-P1 and posted samples and impressions.

Then we go to Wired, more specifically at their Gadget Lab blog, where one of their writers opines on the E-P1 situation so far.

And we close the gadget blog segment with the opinion of Stephen Shankland, back to where we started this segment, at C|Net.
