New Hasselblad CFV-39 digital back is revealed
It looks like the Medium Format world has learned how to grab the headlines and generate some buzz. In today's edition of "As the Medium Format World Turns", Brooke goes on a date with Dr Kristof LaMelangerie, while Hasselblad has announced the new CFV-39 digital back!
The digital back offers photographers the option of a rectangular format at 1.1X with its 36.7 x 49.0 mm sensor. But if you are a fan of the square format, fear not, you can use a 1.5X crop that turns the rectangle into a square (36.7).
And as you may have guessed from the model name, it records 39-megapixels, and goes from ISO 50 to 800. When in square-format mode, it records 29-megapixels since it uses a smaller area of the sensor.
And to give MeFo users more flexibility, they are adding digital lens correction for the V system lenses.
Sony fans will be thrilled to notice that the digital back uses a Sony InfoLithium L battery :-)
We haven't noticed price and availability being mentioned.
