New York AG drops the hammer on seven Brooklyn retailers (scammers)
Through this dpreview forum discussion, we learn that finally, after a long investigation, the New York Attorney General has dropped the financial hammer on seven Brooklyn scammers says the New York Times. As part of the settlement, two will shutdown, and the rest pledged "reform" and agreed to be "monitored" and they will pay nearly three-quarters of a million dollars. For this to be effective though, the NY AG has to be proactive in monitoring, otherwise, it will be just another installment of whack-a-mole.
If you were (or know anyone who was) affected by any of these practices, the NY Times story includes a link with details on how to submit claims.
