New Nikon D5000 review - this time at Camera Labs
Not to be confused with the Google Labs, the Camera Labs have just posted their Nikon D5000 review. As usual, we won't reveal the conclusions here, but you can jump to them at the Verdict page. Camera Labs is one of the few sites that offer a combination of text and video reviews (their D5000 video tour is coming later on), each one focusing on the stronger points of each medium. Another interesting thing is their opinion on how the camera compares with its "neighbors". In this case, they picked the D60, D90, T1i/500D, and E620.
You can follow our past, present and future D5000 updates using the D5000 mini-blog which has summaries of all our D5000-themed updates. A review-cluster for the D5000 is coming soon - soon being as soon as new-news stops coming out :)
The D5000 has had another price-drop, you can get the kit with the 18-55 DX VR for $783 at Amazon, this being sold and shipped by Amazon itself, not by 3rd parties. You can save an extra $50 if you buy this kit together with the Tamron 18-200mm and a $10 Tiffen filter. This promotion also applies to other Nikon DSLRs, big and small.
