New Casio EX-H10 fun-zoom digital camera starts at 24mm and takes 1000 shots!

Casio is introducing their own "fun-zoom' entry in this hot sub-segment of the superzoom market, the new EX-H10. At the moment, Amateur Photographer is the only one that has some details, so be sure to visit their site to check out the new EX-F10 summary.

We'll have more details when this goes global...

Update at 10:53pm pacific: announcement is LIVE in Japan
The camera announcement has now gone live Japan - see pictures and details via Casio Japan and DC Watch (computer-translated).

There are some promising specifications:
+ CIPA battery rating of 1000 (!) with new LiIon battery NP-90
+ Exilim Engine 4
+ 12mp 1/2.3" sensor (ouch!)
+ 10x lens (24-240mm equivalent)
+ sensor-shift stabilization
+ 3" LCD
+ released on July 3 in pink or silver
+ initial production output of 100,000 units per month

The press release mentions that it follows up on the EX-V7 and EX-V8, which is not exactly a good thing to remind people :)

As you can see from the pictures below, this is a rather compact and stylish camera, despite the 10X optical zoom lens and 24mm wide-angle start. Which is why some maybe worried about "pretty" vs "functional". But let's not pre-judge it :)
