Grab your Facebook and Google Profiles names before the robots do

A number of our readers are photographers with an online presence, either a business presence (eg photography studio, photography-blog, etc) or showcasing their photography for the world to see and buy. So this may be of great interest.

We mentioned a few days ago that the webmaster-experts suggest that you grab your business-name and personal-name at the Google Profiles before the robots, scrapers and extortionists grab them the same way they do with domain-names. Here is a quick example - this blog's Google Profile.

Now photographer and fellow-blogger G. Dan Mitchell reminds us all to grab the personal/business names at Facebook. You can do this directly at the new facebook username page and read more about it at the facebook blog. This is a brand new feature that went live about 13 hours ago.
