Foveon temptation: Sigma DP1 delivered for $384 (updated)

If you were tempted by Foveon but didn't want to risk a lot of money for trying it out, how does $384 sound to you? This is the asking price for the Sigma DP1 at Amazon.com, sold and shipped by Amazon itself, not third-party sellers.

As most of you know, there is a follow-up, the Sigma DP2, which of course sells at the list price of $650 and has a different lens and sequential improvements. So far, the Foveon-fans love it, the non-Foveon-fans did not find enough general-interest usability improvements as they compare it to the very competitive camera landscape of 2009.
